Jan Silverston Memorial Golf Tournament
In 2009 Jan Silverston, lost his battle with gastric cancer. To honor the memory of "Beloved Jan" and to help fight gastric cancer, his friends and family hosted the Jan Silverston Memorial Golf Tournament at the Stonebridge Golf Links & Country Club on Friday, May 14, 2010.
A full day of activities started with registration, lunch, bench dedication and shotgun tee-off for the golf tournament. The event continued into the evening with a cocktail hour followed by dinner. Special activities in the evening included an awards ceremony, silent auction and raffle.
The event was a great success with over 100 golfers participating in the tournament, and over 200 individuals enjoying in a fantastic dinner. In total, the event raised $11,433 for the Gastric Cancer Fund.
Very special thanks to Bobby Werner, Alan Nordon, Mel Ockner and all those involved in planning this fantastic event. A huge amount of effort was put forth and is greatly appreciated by Jan's family and the Gastric Cancer Fund.
